The Venus Papers: Nottingham - Creative Writing Masterclass 4pm to 6pm

  • Nottingham Writers Studio 25 Hockley Nottingham, England, NG1 1FP United Kingdom (map)

The Venus Papers is a theatrical poetry show of arrivals, departures, landscapes and journeys developed, written and performed by Lydia Towsey, and it offers a masterclass series that explores the theme of 21st century women, in a time of social, cultural and political turmoil and change.

Creative Writing Masterclass 4pm – 6pm (upper level)

This masterclass offers insights on writing both for the page and for the stage, and developing a show for touring and widening your audiences.  Develop new material and fresh approaches to writing, from working with the body to passing the Bechtel test.  Explore what makes for a good performance; ways to develop your performance skills, resonate with an audience, and make a lasting impact.

The tutor, Lydia Towsey with guest contributions during the session from members of Mouthy Poets, collectively offer many years of experience in presenting their work, performing at festivals, and enticing audiences to see and appreciate performance in new ways in both large-scale and more intimate settings.

Cost: Pay What You Feel, Free to Mouthy Poets members  Book a place here

The Masterclass is followed by the theatrically staged show written and performed by Lydia Towsey and directed by Rachel Mars and including live music performance by Dave Dhonau and Ola Szmidt at 7.30pm.  Read about the show here.
