renaissance one is planning a range of activities in 2011 and 2012. We’re recruiting a team of interns to assist with:
- Jean Binta Breeze's England Tour, Third World Girl, that starts from June and ends late in the year
- creative producing assistance - general help with our ongoing programme of spoken word events and tours, in London and other cities
- social media and spoken word content - working with us to disseminate, make and organise
Events and activities will be in London, East Midlands and the North West and we are open to receiving CVs from applicants around England. Should you be suitable, we can match you to upcoming activities and projects and you in turn can work with us to shape events into convivial and stimulating spaces.
You'll have the opportunity to shadow major contemporary culture events, get an insight into event production, and spend time with an experienced creative business that can offer advice on areas of interest to you.
One role involves looking after guest speakers and is suitable for a candidate who demonstrates strong communication skills and a flair for getting things done.
VOLUNTEER SPECIFICATION:
We’re looking for volunteers who offer:
ESSENTIAL SKILLS • Availability to volunteer for a minimum of three days over a year, and can intend an induction • A personable and friendly approach and manner • Strong organisational ability; practical events organising experience • good timekeeping • A flair for taking initiative within a team framework • arts interest, particularly literature and/or music
DESIRABLE SKILLS• Strong communication skills and an ability to liaise with people at all levels
INTERN SPECIFICATION:
All of the ESSENTIAL SKILLS above plus an understanding of, and interest in, social networking and Web 2.0 • podcasting know-how • Strong communication skills; an ability to liaise with people at all levels • understands social media * Availability to intern for a period of four months, equivalent of 1 day per week; can attend an interview; is able to attend an induction to the company.
